A Bit About Me

Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved the written word. As a child, I’d spend hours in the library, check out a dozen books at a time, and read well past my bedtime by the light of the streetlamp filtering through my window. As a young adult, I took solace in writing and cherish crafting every sentence with great care. I decided to take this passion and set my sights on a career in editing and publishing, eager to learn how texts are created from conception, to production, to publication.

As an editorial intern for a local fashion magazine, I've created both short and lengthy content relating to fashion, such as seasonal trends, styles, artistic vision, pop-up shops and restaurants, and more. I also worked with clients to develop articles marketing their business in our magazine. As a staff writer, I’ve written articles on hot-button issues, worked with freelancers to develop perspective for a story, and remained diligent under looming deadlines. As a freelancer, I’ve worked closely with clients to build captivating resumes and cover letters. Additionally, I’ve drafted feedback on manuscripts, edited research papers and graduate theses, and created engaging presentations for work and educational purposes for a number of clients’ needs.

I believe in any creative industry trust is key. Artists (writers, designers, musicians, actors, etc.) are protective over their work and understandably so. When I am entrusted with a fellow creative’s work that they would like me to edit to near perfect condition, it becomes deeply personal: For someone to trust me enough to let me see their world, how they create, and how they think—it’s a type of creative trust, respect, and collaboration unique to art forms. I do my absolute best in all my work to honor this philosophy.
